Sabrina Bulla

Sabrina Bulla was raised in Little Saigon in Orange County, California. She attended the University of California, Berkeley (UCB), where she earned a BA in public health. “The major gave me the opportunity to expand my understanding of the many non-clinical factors that affect health and disease.” While at UCB she served as a health policy analyst for the Berkeley City Council. She wrote a clause to lessen the environmental impact of a city housing policy; this addition led the city council to pass the policy unanimously. She also wrote and proposed to the city council six anti-tobacco policies. As head facilitator for a UCB course, she helped students express their opinions on health-related issues by having students explore health topics of relevance to the student population and write articles and blogs for a student-run health website. As an undergraduate student, she worked as a CVS pharmacy technician, learning about the intersection of pharmacy patient care and health policy in a retail business setting. As a current staff research assistant at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute, she works with her team to find correlations between genetic markers and autoimmune diseases. Bulla is a member of the P1 (first-year pharmacy student) Committee Board of the American Pharmacists Association and the California Pharmacists Association of Student Pharmacists at UCSF.
