Val Robb

RN
Ms. Robb, a San Francisco nurse, has provided care to people with AIDS and HIV since the beginning of the HIV epidemic. Her nursing journey began at Mount Zion Hospital followed by 12 years providing hospice and home care services. Until her retirement in 2017, Ms. Robb worked at Ward 86, the UCSF HIV clinic at San Francisco General Hospital, for 17 years. At Ward 86, she developed a comprehensive program for patients co-infected with HIV and hepatitis C, as well as nursing support for the Women’s Clinic. Ms. Robb was a pioneer in developing home-care programs for marginally housed drug users with AIDS and was one of the early harm-reduction trainers in the Bay Area and later was a trainer for the AID Education and Training Center (AETC).
